Reflexivity and academic identity in accounting: intersubjective reflexive identity work as a feminist academic

Purpose I provide an exploration and critique of reflexive research practice, which explores the nature reflexivity, its relevance to influence on accounting academic identity formation. Design/methodology/approach The paper gives detailed explanations three different approaches reflexivity dependent perspectives reality exemplifies chosen approach – intersubjective reflexivity. It draws from personal experiences illustrate practice in action impact identity, including my own as a feminist academic. examples involve process reflexively “being struck” regarding voice representation; addressing power, privilege decolonisation knowledge production; negotiating insider/outsider identities. Findings reconceptualise formation that enables transformative experience more praxis within turbulent context. Reflexive will resonate with academics who are reflecting role purpose academy their it.
